Fifteen years!
It was a pleasure and an honor for me to open the Gala celebrating the 15th anniversary of the creation of the Master's degree and the Chair in Business Law and Ethics created and run by Professor Roxana Family at the University of Cergy-Pontoise.
Indeed, on the one hand, Roxana is for me the model of audacity (compliance was virtually unknown in 2007), courage (embarking on the adventure of this Master's degree was uncertain, and its current success was not a foregone conclusion) and generosity (the admiration and affection that her students and the Master's alumni have for her is commensurate with all that she gives and has given them).
On the other hand, now that I'm fully involved in compliance and the ensuing litigation, whether in the fields of anti-corruption, environmental protection, social and human rights or personal data protection, I realize that CSR is a fact of civilization. It cannot be ignored, even if we have to guard against naivety when it comes to certain media strategies and planned agitation at certain corporate general meetings!
